Hi guys

This is very interesting stuff, I am glad to see I am not the only one who likes anti-Stokes fluorescence.
Vlad, I was surprised to see those England notes fluorescing. I need to get those. Do you have the year or images of the other side of the 5, 10 and 20 Pounds?

Some other notes you can check. I confirmed these have anti-Stokes fluorescence also:

By the way I found so far that Russia was not the first to do this on mass-produced notes. The earliest notes I found so far are from Spain, dated 1979. The whole series fluoresces!

I checked the 1971 notes and they have no anti-Stokes fluorescence. What I still have to check is the 1976 5000 Pesetas banknote.
I don't have that yet.

Vlad, I have to tell you: I had a look at your pictures and they are really good, much better than what I got so far!
Another nice Goznak set with infrared and anti-Stokes is the "Nature 2022" set of 4 notes that came in a folder. This is the one with the tiger on the back and the four seasons on the front, each season being represented by one note.
I can detect but not photograph the anti-Stokes fluorescence on these notes.
They are very beautiful under UV

"Nature 2022" set looks absolutely stunning under UV light! I'll try to this to collection. Goznak really likes to cram as many security features into their test banknotes as possible for advertising purposes.

Thank you for adding to the list of banknotes with anti-Stokes luminescence; you've done some really extensive research!

I'll look for images of English banknotes and show the front side with signatures and series so we can identify the year/variety.

That nature series is the only one so far in my collection that has two different infrared responses, one at 850nm and another at 940nm.

I showed it here:

By the way, Vlad, you and TCM cost me a bit of money now, because of course I had to order those nice notes you demonstrated with anti-Stokes fluorescence

That is nice! I need to recheck my notes then, I have a few original 1997s. Maybe I didn't look closely enough!

The location of this security element is as follows (so you know where to look):
5 rubles 1997/2001 - arrows and patterns to the left of the monument;
10 rubles 1997/2001 - elements around the chapel;
50 rubles 1997/2001 - trees beyond the river and clouds;
100 rubles 1997/2001 - triangles and patterns in a ribbon to the left of Apollo;
500 rubles 1997/2001 - dots and circles to the left of the monument;

The 1,000 and 5,000 rubles notes apparently did not have this element.

I also saw something similar on a 100 ruble note from 2013 - on the front side there is a strip invisible in the normal light, on which in the IR850nm range there is just a dark area, and at IR940nm the word "Сочи" becomes visible.

Thanks I will see if I can get those.

I had a look at the earliest examples in my collection that have anti-Stokes ink. This 1979 Spain note (500 Pesetas) is the cheapest of them, and should be easy enough to get on eBay:

That's paper of course.

The earliest polymer note in my collection with anti-Stokes fluorescence is this one:

That's a Vietnam 500 000 Dong note from 2019. I see in the series it goes back to 2003, it might be that those are positive also.

It is on my list to acquire.

By the way all of the new Vietnam polymer notes from 50 000 to 500 000 Dong have a laser diffraction feature. If you shine a laser pointer at the little clear polymer window, a pattern can be projected on a wall behind the note. So if you want a polymer note with anti-Stokes and laser diffraction then look for a 100 000, 200 000 or 500 000 Dong note. I've tested notes from 2019 onwards...
